Sue Leeming Artwork Auction

Sue Leeming has donated an amazing piece of artwork to be auctioned to raise money for the Birdsnest India project this Friday night at the Kinwomen House Concert.

We asked her to tell us the inspiration for her artwork that is being sold on Friday night.

‘From a Sense of Place’ was the title of my first solo exhibition in New Zealand over twenty years ago now and still this idea of belonging in connection to the landscape continues to permeate my work as does the search to find expression for my spirituality through the vehicle of art-making. I attribute that to my New Zealand Maori background and my faith in a loving God whose Spirit hovers over the face of the earth plays a part in framing my ability to articulate this journey to belonging, this journey of faith and connection which is inherently universal and transcends cultures.

We will have a public opportunity to bid over on our Facebook page as well as the people at the House Concert on Friday night.
