“I have been up against tough competition all my life. I wouldn’t know how to get along without it.”
Walt Disney
Competition, that word that can send shivers down our spine and shoot adrenaline into our souls. It has the capacity to reduce us to our worst or cause us to shine our personal brilliance. What creates the chasm of difference in these two very different outcomes? After many years of trial and error, observation and reading, I can quite confidently assert, we do. We get to choose what competition does for us and to us. If it is our yardstick for life and success then it is a hard master, but if it is a tool in our hands that we choose to pick up and put down then it can produce remarkable achievements and talents. Many that would stay dormant without the challenge of others and circumstances.
