“True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.”
Rick Warren
As a Mum of small children, the monotony of my every day can feel very purposeless. I know, I know, you are ready to tell me all the reasons why being a parent of young children is the greatest gift in the world!
And I know its a gift.
I am truly grateful for that gift every single day. I also, listen and walk silently alongside my friends who struggle with the grief of infertility, but the unspoken truth also is this;
Parenting small children is a relentless task.
I am purpose driven mad, seeking out the gold in a season of complete and utter servanthood.
Rick Warren in his brilliant book Purpose Driven Life says this;
“True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.”
The life of a parent, a teacher, a grandparent, a barista in your local cafe is a life of servanthood. However, we live in a culture that is continually repeating to us that we need to:
1) become famous to be successful
or
2) go off to the ends of the earth to find our purpose waiting there.
My simple thought for you today is this. What can you do, with whats in your hands today to serve others?
This is my pursuit of significance. In the midst of a season that requires much servanthood. I wonder if we were able to put this kind of story up on a platform, whether it would make us all fear less about the pursuit of significance and purpose.

So much yes! Significance is about other people. xx
