The Light 1

Rose Parker has written a new song inspired by the terrible death of George Floyd and the world wide eruptions that’s occurred after. Read the inspiration below:

It came to me from a dream

An old gnarled toothless homeless man showed me the words on a old piece of paper and he said to me,

“Stronger does not mean better

And weakness doesn’t mean you are weak”

Verse 1
The air is moving… heaving and rumbling
The world is turning ….groaning and stumbling
And circles like numbers parade in the air
People are running from everywhere
Children are crying and old women weep
And good men are wondering
What does it mean
CHORUS
To be strong. To be kind
To be weak. To be wise
What does it mean
To be strong. To be kind
To be weak. To be wise

Verse 2
Big men are talking their silly words of war
Children are dying just to be heard
Young men are yelling. I can’t breathe
And we’re watching and wondering
What does it mean

Chorus
To be strong To be kind
To be weak. To be wise.
What does it mean
To be strong. To be kind
To be weak. To be wise

And yes Mr Leonard Cohen
you said it so true , said it so right
It’s the cracks in the vessel
That lets in the Light….

Verse 3
So what are we taking
And what are we leaving
What are we Giving
and what are we keeping
Who are we blaming and what do we see
When we are watching late night TV
What are we doing
what are we saying
What are we feeling
what are we praying
Are we numb are we dumb are we overwhelmed and undone
Cause I can’t unsee… I can’t unsee..
I can’t unsee..so what does it mean

To be strong. To be kind
To be weak. To be wise
What does it mean
To be strong. To be kind
To be weak. To be wise
And Yes .. mr Leonard Cohen
You said it so true.. said it so right
It’s the cracks in the vessel
That lets in the Light
It’s the cracks in the vessel
That lets in the Light
