Guarding my heart 6

Proverbs simply suggests;

“Guard your heart above all else.”

We live in a culture that thrives on comparison and competition. I have been learning in the realm of my heart, that I need to learn what corrupts the softness of my heart.

In the midst of busyness and all the to do’s on my list, finding ways to create boundaries that help my heart thrive are important to my everyday wellbeing.

This scripture in Proverbs 4, goes on to talk about the things that can easily corrupt our heart spaces.

One: the words that flow from my lips.

Two: the images my eyes allow to impact my mind.

Three: the paths that my feet walk upon.

These three practical ways that I can breathe in deep to recalibrate the spaces within my heart are important. Remembering that when I speak, these words begin deep within my heart, so my thought processes matter. Bringing boundaries into my everyday visual spaces like watching the news at night time and the social media pages I follow. And lastly, simply reforming the places that I walk, allowing a rhythm of meditation and quiet to form my days.

How is your heart space this October?
