Day of Lament

There is a day of lament happening in Perth. They are gathering people of faith to respond to the findings of the royal commission into child abuse in institutional settings, to show that we are listening and that we are committed to justice.

They are an interdenominational group of lay people who invite you to join them in this act of faith.

Here is their invitation:

At 3.30 pm, to Mc Allum Park, Victoria Park we invite you and your family/friends to arrive with picnic rugs, chairs and afternoon tea.

At 4.15pm, please join us for a short liturgy of lament, when we will:

  • Lament the silence
  • Acknowledge the pain
  • Say we are sorry
  • Pray for healing
  • Commit to justice for survivors

Rose Parker from Kinwomen will be performing to help women and men take the time to reflect and release the pain.
